El Perro Loco, known for its loaded hot dogs, relocated to a new spot after the Fourth of July, owner Chris Childers said.
The details: The food truck offers gourmet hot dogs, street tacos, loaded fries, elote, breakfast tacos, breakfast burritos and drinks such as fresh-squeezed lemonade.
Specialty hot dogs include The Elote Dog, which is a 100% Angus beef hot dog wrapped in bacon and covered with mayo, corn, cotija cheese, Tajin, and topped with cilantro and lime. Childers said their bestseller is The L.A. Dog, which comes with carne asada, grilled onions, raw onion, cilantro mix and salsa verde.
Childers said the food truck held its grand reopening July 15 for National Hot Dog Day and sold nearly 300 hot dogs in a six-hour span. He added that he and his wife, Jeanette, use quality, fresh ingredients that are prepared daily.
The backstory: The family-owned restaurant opened in November 2025 and was previously located at 2315 Colorado Blvd. in Denton.
