Frisco officials are reviewing a new eight-acre dog park next to Fire Station No. 8, with plans for multiple entrances, shade structures, open space and a splash pad.
What we know: The proposed dog park will be located along Rolater Road, east of Fire Station No. 8. Plans for the park include two entrances, connections with existing trails, dog washing stations, shade structures, a bridge over West Rowlett Creek and double-gated access.
Following the adoption of the Plan Your Play master plan in 2025, city officials reviewed resident feedback on a proposed new dog park. City documents state 11% of survey respondents named another dog park as their top desired facility.
The park’s construction is expected to take 12-18 months, with the opening slated for late 2028 to mid 2029.
