Here’s what Richardson voters need to know before May 2 election day

May 2 is local election day for many Texans, and Richardson voters have the opportunity to cast their ballots on the city’s proposed $223.4 million bond, amendments to the city charter and up to two Richardson ISD school board elections.

What you need to know: All polls will be open 7 a.m.-7 p.m. on May 2.

Dallas County residents may vote at any Dallas County election day center, including any of the 14 locations in Richardson, such as Berkner High School, Canyon Creek Elementary and Richardson Heights Elementary.

Richardson residents who live in Collin County must vote at one of the following locations on election day:

  • Aldridge Elementary
  • Collin County Elections Office
  • Methodist Richardson Medical Center Campus for Continuing Care
  • Miller Elementary

What's on the ballot: The ballot will include five propositions for Richardson's $223.4 million bond proposal, 50 amendments to the city charter and up to two seats on the RISD board of trustees.

Moon Wolf Provisions now serving coffee, baked goods in Richardson

Moon Wolf Provisions is now serving specialty coffee and baked goods at its new brick-and-mortar location in Richardson.

The details: Moon Wolf first opened as a trailer, which will still be used for catering and mobile events. The coffee shop serves a variety of drinks, including cold brew, matcha and specialty lattes. Moon Wolf also offers coffee cake, banana bread and tiramisu baked in-house and bagels from Starship Bagel.

In addition to food and drink, Moon Wolf sells mugs, T-shirts, bags, oils, incense and other goods. According to its website, the coffee shop also plans on hosting quarterly events with musicians, photographers, a flea market and more.

KPot Korean BBQ & Hot Pot debuts north Fort Worth location

KPot Korean BBQ & Hot Pot held its grand opening in the North City shopping center in the Alliance area of Fort Worth at the end of April.

Customers can create dishes in a build-your-own meal format, which are then heated on dining-table stoves with assistance from restaurant staff, according to the restaurant's website.

The meal starts with eight different soup bases with varying levels of spice and gluten-free options. The guest then chooses their meats, seafood, vegetables and noodles before creating their own sauce.

Malai Kitchen celebrates 10 years of bringing Vietnamese, Thai dishes to Southlake

Malai Kitchen celebrated 10 years in Southlake.

The restaurant serves Thai and Vietnamese dishes, including pad Thai fried rice, curry bowls, salads and soups.

Husband-and-wife team Braden and Yasmin Wages, the owners and creators of the restaurant, used their travels, experiences and talents to bring their take on traditional Thai and Vietnamese dishes to Southlake, according to previous reporting.
