Plano ISD expands window for out-of-district transfers

Plano ISD has expanded its transfer window for students that live outside of the district.

What you need to know: The district’s board of trustees approved revisions to its interdistrict transfers policy June 9, removing language indicating that transfers will only be granted one year at a time.

Also removed was language indicating that transfer applications were not accepted for the current school year and that all approved transfers would begin attending PISD in the fall semester.

Why it matters: Board President Lauren Tyra said the changes will “allow stability” for the children of teachers who live outside of the district’s attendance boundaries.
