Bento & Blaze to bring Japanese cuisine to Fetch Food Park

Japanese food truck Bento & Blaze is slated to open in early August at Fetch Food Park.

The details: According to a representative for the business, the food truck will specialize in Japanese bento boxes featuring items such as grilled teriyaki, chicken katsu or steak, served with steamed rice and other sides. The truck will also serve a rotating selection of classic Japanese finger foods for appetizers.

A grand opening date, operating hours and parking details will be finalized in the coming weeks.

Eanes Education Foundation names new executive director

The Eanes Education Foundation named Sarah Story as the foundation's new executive director.

Story succeeds retiring executive director Dana DeLorenzo, and officially took over the role July 20.

The details: Per a news release, this will mark Story's third executive director role following leadership positions at the Mississippi Arts Commission, the Ogden Museum of Southern Art, the Umlauf Sculpture Garden and Museum, the Blanton Museum of Art, and the Long Center for the Performing Arts.

Story is also active active in the Austin civic and nonprofit community and serves on the board of the Austin Diaper Bank, the release stated. Story's two children are slated to attend the Eanes ISD Child Development Center and will continue their education through Eanes schools.

The Art Garage opens 3rd art studio in South Austin

After officially opening its third location in South Austin earlier this summer, The Art Garage is slated to hold a grand opening celebration in August.  

The details: Per a news release, the business will hold the grand opening on Aug. 8 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m., featuring a ribbon-cutting ceremony, free tie-dye T-shirts and spin art, 15% off pottery painting, and pop-up vendors including MK Tattoos, Peaches Coffee and King of Pops. 

The art studio has other locations at 11190 Circle Drive, Austin and 5501 N. Lamar Blvd., Austin and offers paint-your-own pottery, glass fusion, mosaics, clay workshops and art camps.
