Frisco Stormwater Utility Fee to increase 20%

Frisco City Council voted to increase the monthly Stormwater Utility Fee by 20% at a Jan. 6 meeting. The rate increase will take effect on Feb. 1.

The details: The fee for each property is based on impervious area, or the amount of land that does not absorb water.

The context: Frisco uses the Stormwater Utility Fee to pay for programs required by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, or TCEQ, like pollution prevention and public education.
