Graze Craze opens Pflugerville location

Graze Craze, a charcuterie catering franchise, has expanded into Pflugerville with a new shop in Three Points Plaza.

The details: The location marks the brand's first outside Austin proper, giving local residents, businesses, and event planners access to handcrafted charcuterie offerings for corporate events, celebrations, client gifting and everyday entertaining.

The 1,158-square-foot store is owned by U.S. Marine Corps veteran Keith Duncan and his wife, Tania Pardo, who met in culinary school

“We’re excited to introduce our growing community to this innovative approach to graze-style dining,” Pardo said in a news release. “We both have culinary backgrounds and love bringing people together through tasting experiences, Graze Craze’s versatility in making any event memorable does just that.”

To celebrate the launch, Duncan and Pardo will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony Aug. 13 at noon, in collaboration with the Pflugerville Chamber of Commerce. The public is invited to enjoy complimentary samples, giveaways and a first look at the new space.

Pflugerville ISD plans $2M in administrative cuts

Pflugerville ISD is slated to see an additional $2 million in administrative cuts, which will help lower the district's projected budget shortfalls and allow for a 1% staff raise to be considered.

Some context: Chief Financial Officer Jennifer Land said the district would need to identify $44 million in cuts prior to being able to give a 1% raise: $3 million-$5 million in 2026-27, or Year 0; $16 million-$18 million in 2027-28, or Year 1; and $1 million-$3 million in 2028-29, or Year 2. According to PfISD's Chief of Schools Laila Olivarez, $42 million in cumulative savings through Year 2 has already been identified.

The update: Administration reductions will proceed to close the remaining $2 million gap. However, Olivarez acknowledged that future action toward closing additional campuses is not off the table.

Winter 2026-spring 2027: community engagement efforts
Summer 2027: final readiness assessments and welcome events for the receiving campuses
Fall 2027: consolidated campuses open for the 2027-28 school year

WilCo commissioners appoint new tax assessor-collector

Catherine Totty began her role as the new Williamson County tax assessor-collector July 21, following Larry Gaddes’ resignation last month.

What happened: Williamson County commissioners swore in Totty at the July 21 Commissioners Court meeting.

Totty brings more than 25 years of leadership experience in banking, lending, financial services and operations.

“I look forward to working alongside the businesses as we continue the tradition of excellent service that the citizens of Williamson County have come to expect,” Totty said. “Together, we build on that foundation by providing professional, efficient and responsive service to every resident we have the privilege to serve.”

What’s next: Totty will fill the role until the November election.

The executive committees of the local Democratic and Republican parties will nominate a candidate to place on the November ballot. Voters will then decide on a new Williamson County tax assessor-collector who will serve a term until Dec. 31, 2028.
