Trails Master Plan survey, new townhomes: Check out 4 Allen stories you may have missed

1. Allen officials invite community to provide feedback with Trails Master Plan survey: Individuals in Allen have the opportunity to help shape the city's future trail system. The Allen Trails Master Plan Update survey is available on the city’s website until July 31 for individuals to provide feedback on trail development, according to a June 26 news release.

The Allen Parks and Recreation Department is partnering with planning and engineering consulting firm Halff Associates to update the city’s trails master plan, which was last updated in 2019, per the release.

The details: The business offers men’s haircuts, beard trims and custom-made fedora hats, per its website. Senor Brims Barbershop & Hat Studio will move to a new suite in the same building, the representative said.

Dunkin' Donuts, golf training center: 5 major construction permits filed around DFW

A golf course in Richardson will receive a new training center and a new Dunkin' Donuts will open in McKinney. Check out 5 major permits filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation around Dallas-Fort Worth.

1. Golf training center: Sherrill Park Golf Course in Richardson will receive a new indoor training center with three indoor hitting bays, a conference room and club fitting room, TDLR documents state.

  • Estimated timeline: Aug. 24, 2026-Feb 12, 2027

  • Estimated cost: $5.1 million


2. New Dunkin' Donuts: TDLR documents state that a new Dunkin' Donuts will occupy an unused tenant space at the Walmart on Redbud Boulevard in McKinney. The project will cost about $258,000 to renovate the space to accommodate Dunkin' Donuts. The company offers donuts, coffee and breakfast food like bagels and egg sandwiches, according to the company's menu.

  • Estimated timeline: Aug. 30, 2026-Nov. 6, 2026

Frontier Airlines adds previous Spirit Airlines route from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport

Frontier Airlines announced it would add eight new routes that were previously operated by Spirit Airlines.

The details: One of the new routes, which started July 5, connects Dallas Fort Worth International Airport to Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport in New Orleans.

There will be daily flights to and from DFW Airport, out of Terminal E.
