Jennifer Brown opened Barbie’s House on the border of Prosper and Celina after watching her mother Barbie operate her own design business for 30 years.

“My goal for opening the retail location was to provide people a place to come in and shop and get cute gifts and more, but also to share my work for design services,” Brown said. 

Since establishing Barbies House interior design in 2014, Brown has consistently expanded both her design services and retail business as well as opening her own storefront in 2024.

The details Barbie’s House features a curated collection of home decor, furniture, lighting, textiles and fragrances and has recently expanded its selection to include mahjong sets. 
 

Prosper officials’ review of Project Tomahawk, a data center proposed for 39.3 acres near the intersection of FM 1385 and Parvin Road, has been delayed.

In case you missed it: The Prosper Planning and Zoning Commission was originally set to consider the project at an Aug. 18 meeting, according to prior reporting.

La La Land Cafe, a Dallas-based coffee and matcha chain, has opened a new location in Frisco.

1. Celestica expansion in Richardson: The tech company Celestica is expanding its Richardson facility with a new 225,000-square-foot building, according to TDLR documents. An estimated 2,300 jobs will be created in the process, according to previous Community Impact reporting.
