Carroll ISD teachers, staff will see pay increases after board of trustees approval

The Carroll ISD board of trustees unanimously approved teacher and staff pay increases for fiscal year 2026-27 at the April 20 regular board meeting.

The overview: CISD plans to invest $2 million-$2.25 million into teachers and staff pay raises for FY 2026-27, Executive Director of Human Resources Melanie Kibodeaux said.

Teachers will see a salary increase of $2,000 based on their credible years of service, which is over a 3%-from-midpoint increase, according to district documents. This will be added on top of the state-funded teacher pay increase, which consists of:

  • $2,500 for teachers serving three to four years
  • $5,000 for teachers serving five or more years

Additionally, the starting pay for certified teachers will increase from $60,200 to $62,200, according to district documents. Noncertified teachers’ starting pay will be $60,000.

What they're saying: “What we're trying to strike here is a good balance of what we can afford to remain competitive in this area,” CISD Superintendent Jeremy Glenn said.
