Bird Dog Roofing now operating in Leander, Austin metro area

In early 2026, local residents Brian and Amanda Prokaski launched Bird Dog Roofing, bringing Austin’s only workmanship warranty on roofs, Brian Prokaski said.

Learn more: The roofing company offers roof inspections, repair and replacement, as well as storm damage repair, gutter and fascia services.
While the business is based in Leander, Prokaski also serves the surrounding areas, including Cedar Park, Lago Vista, Georgetown, Austin, Hutto and Jonestown, according to the company's website.

44,000-square-foot indoor sports club headed to Leander, Cedar Park

A 44,000-square-foot indoor sports club will make its debut in Leander next spring, said owner and general contractor Sravanth Poreddy.

A sneak peek: To be known as Reagan Sports Club, the facility will feature indoor soccer, volleyball, basketball, badminton, pickleball, taekwondo, yoga and a dedicated gym space, Poreddy said.

The sports club will outsource businesses for the yoga, indoor soccer and taekwondo offerings, which will each operate as separate businesses. The indoor sports facility will also allow visitors to rent courts hourly for sports like basketball and pickleball.

Looking ahead: August Construction is expected to break ground on the new sports complex in March 2027, targeting a fall 2028 opening.

Expansion could bring Desnudo, Rockman, austiNuts and more to Austin airport

As the expansion of Austin-Bergstrom International Airport continues, the city is looking to bring both local and national retailers to new terminal areas.

The details: The multiyear expansion, Journey with AUS, will add taxiways, a concourse, a parking garage and other improvements. Also included is the extension of the existing Barbara Jordan Terminal's west side and a smaller temporary terminal, Concourse M.

This month, city officials are slated to approve a new concession lease agreement that will bring new retail, food and beverage options to the West Gate Expansion area and Concourse M as the airport development program moves along. The deal could see travelers get access to products from local businesses such as Densudo Coffee, Rockman and autiNuts as well as national retailers Starbucks and Amazon.
