P. Terry's newest location in Cypress is set to open April 27, officials confirmed.

The details: P. Terry's Burger Stand serves all-natural burgers, fresh hand-cut fries, and more according to their website. This will be the Austin-based company's fourth location in the Houston area.

Harris County Emergency Services District No. 9 fire stations will receive red light sauna therapy units and cold plunges for all 13 stations in the district after receiving a donation from the Cy-Fair Women's Club.

The details: The Cy-Fair Women’s Club, CWC, presented the Cy-Fair Professional Firefighters Charitable Fund $10,000 through its annual Major Project Funding, MPF, for the saunas and cold plunges on April 16 at the ESD 9 meeting.

What it means: The saunas and cold plunges are expected to arrive by mid-May, Cy-Fair Professional Fire Fighters Association President Chris Fillmore told Community Impact. As the Cy-Fair community continues to grow, Fillmore said organizations such as the CWC show that there is still support for each other.

“Strong communities don’t happen by accident; they are built through partnership.” CWC member Kim De Lorenzo said at the ESD 9 meeting. “One of the most critical partnerships a community has is with the men and women who protect it.”

Texans are expected to save millions in sales taxes on emergency supplies—everything from tarps to generators—during an annual tax holiday April 25-27.

How it works: The sales tax holiday begins at 12:01 a.m. April 24 and lasts until midnight April 27.

Texans are expected to save about $2.4 million in state and local taxes, according to the comptroller’s office. Last year, Texans saved about $2.3 million, agency spokesperson Kevin Lyons said.

According to the comptroller’s office, items qualify for the tax exemption if they are priced at:

• Less than $75 for items including household batteries, fuel containers, flashlights, smoke detectors, tarps and first aid kits

• Less than $300 for hurricane shutters and emergency ladders

• Less than $3,000 for portable generators
