Studio84 Hot Yoga opened in Lakeway in late August following the renovation of the former Hill Country Hot Yoga.

The overview: Studio84 Hot Yoga offers a variety of classes for various skill levels including the Original Hot Yoga, vinyasa, hot pilates and other yoga and fitness options.

What else: Studio84 Hot Yoga also offers teacher trainings in the Original Hot Yoga and the Intermediate 40 Posture Sequence.

Bee Cave City Council rejected a special use permit for a research and development lab for VVater, a water treatment company, at an Aug. 25 council meeting.

The background: VVater is a water technology company that offers water treatment and reuse solutions.

The company applied for a special use permit for its research and development lab to be located at a roughly 3-acre property along RM 620.

No new construction or site development was proposed; however, the applicant requested that the city modify the unified development code to allow open or outdoor storage for research lab uses.

The issue: Although the planning and zoning commission recommended the permit for approval, with the condition of the landscaping covering the units, City Council was concerned about the visibility of the units even with the proposed shrubbery.

The city of Bee Cave prohibits storage in front of properties, Bee Cave Mayor Kara King said.

Project: The street in Kyle will be widened with added curbs, gutters, lighting and sidewalks to both sides of the road, including one shared-use path, between Old Stagecoach Road and Veterans Drive; and adds a new single-lane roundabout. 
Update: Construction began at the 5-way traffic stop at West Center Street and Old Stagecoach Road on July 13. Crews are potholing and building drainage improvements.

SH 195 exit ramp
Project: Led by the Texas Department of Transportation, the right lane exit ramp provides direct access to Ronald Reagan Boulevard in Georgetown from northbound SH 195. Previously, drivers had to use a turn lane and cross over southbound lanes. 
Update: Williamson County and TxDOT officials celebrated the opening with a ribbon cutting on Aug. 24.
