Construction on a downtown redevelopment project is set to start at the end of the year, according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Registration.
What you need to know: Richardson City Council members approved the redevelopment project at their Feb. 10 meeting after several Richardson residents spoke both in favor and against the project. The 303,700-square-foot apartment complex will include 279 units and is located on Polk Street, near the intersection of S. Greenville Avenue and E. Main Street.
Zooming in: In order to build the apartment complex, numerous properties will be demolished and removed. Additionally, the complex will be four stories with a five-story parking garage, according to the filing. The project will also close McKinney Street from Polk Street to Kaufman Street, according to city documents.
One more thing: The complex is being developed by High Street Residential, which is a subsidiary of Trammel Crow Company.
