Home sale prices continue to decline in September for Cedar Park and Far Northwest Austin

Median home sale prices continued to drop year over year in September, according to the latest data from Unlock MLS.

Prices in the region fell from an average of $502,500 in September 2024 to $475,000 in September 2025. The market saw a slight increase in the number of closed or pending sales, while the overall number of active listings grew to 1,330, up from 1,073 last year.

Cork2Glass now open in Cedar Park

Cork2Glass, a new wine bar in Cedar Park, opened on Oct. 11.

The details: The new space features a bar area and seating lounge. Cork2Glass will have weekly live music performances and a retail area for customers to take wine home and a space for hosting private events, according to the Cork2Glass website.

On the menu: The wine selection is curated by an in-house sommelier to include natural, organic and non alcoholic options. The food menu includes a selection of cheese and meat boards, light bites, flatbreads, salads and desserts.

Also of note: Cork2Glass plans to host wine tastings and classes in their private event space, according to the business’ newsletter.

Williamson County Fair and Rodeo coming to Taylor in October

The Williamson County Fair and Rodeo will be open from Oct. 22-25 in Taylor.

More details: Attractions for this year include carnival rides, a children’s business fair, a petting zoo, pig races, the H-E-B Beer and Wine Garden and more. 

Fun for the family: Children can partake in the rodeo activities through the kid’s calf scramble and mutton bustin’ competitions; families are encouraged to register their rider in advance to secure a spot. 

To-do list: Attendees can expect live music all weekend from Elle Townley, Suede, All Hat No Cadillac and a Taylor Swift tribute show. Fairgoers are also invited to shop at the arts and crafts fair stocked with over 60 vendors selling handmade jewelry, holiday decorations and home goods.

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Texas supports families in medical distress

Across the state of Texas, families brave overwhelming medical situations in which they often have no options but to stay in hospital rooms while supporting their children needing care. Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Texas has worked since 1985 to ease these experiences with comfortable sleeping spaces, food services and more.

The history: Since its launch, the nonprofit has expanded with family rooms available at Dell Children’s Medical Center, Dell Children’s Medical Center North Campus, Seton Medical Center Austin, St. David’s Medical Center and St. David’s North Austin Medical Center.

Each family room contains a living room, a kitchen and dining area, sleeping rooms, shower and laundry facilities, a quiet room and snacks and beverages.

“No family ever dreams of having a child in a hospital,” COO Kristin Coulter said. “The certainty when they’re told that their child has a diagnosis or is critically ill to have a resource like Ronald McDonald House come alongside them and walk along that journey with them is very comforting.”

Check out these new restaurants and bars opening across the Austin area.

Fat Rabbit Social House has taken over the space previously occupied by Forthright in downtown Austin, as founder and operator Rachael Treadwell takes her first leap into restaurant ownership after previously managing Forthright.

The restaurant offers brunch classics such as chicken and waffles, French toast and specialty entrees.

The space also features lunch options, including an adult grilled cheese and tomato bisque, a citrus and crab salad, and a truffle cheese and bacon panini. Cocktails and specialty coffee are also served.

Koko’s Bavarian has opened a 7000-square-foot beer hall on South Lamar Boulevard.

The spot combines Bavarian tradition and Texas hospitality with an expanded food and beverage menu, including wings, mozzarella sticks, whitefish dip, Bavarian pretzels, Belgian-style fries and more.

“Here in Central Texas, where German roots run deep, it’s an honor to share a legacy that connects my family’s history with the region’s rich traditions," partner Konstantin Prinz von Bayern, known as Koko, said. “Our goal is to create a space that feels true to that heritage: long tables, high energy and crowds brought together over sausages, pretzels and authentic Austin vibes.”
