The Woodlands Township to consider sports facility study

The Woodlands Township board of directors will meet on Oct. 22 to discuss developing a concept for an indoor recreation facility. The township is considering a $231,600 feasibility study from Burditt Consultants, LLC, with funding coming from the parks needs assessment reserve.

What to expect: The proposed task order consists of three phases that will not exceed $231,600:

  • $92,000 for Burditt to review township plans and stakeholder needs

  • $100,000 to develop up to three development scenarios varying in size

  • $39,600 to provide an operational and revenue analysis if the board approves one option

An additional $18,000 will be considered for optional items to create a high-level concept and 3D renderings.

Also of note: If the board approves the task order, the recommendation is to approve a budget amendment to fund the order from the PNA Reserve this year.
