Kyle's La Verde Park splash pad repairs set for mid-October completion

The Kyle community will once again enjoy the water features at La Verde Park.

What’s happening?: The city of Kyle approved a contract with Kraftsman Commercial Playgrounds & Water Parks for major repairs to the La Verde Park Splash Pad at the Sept. 2 council meeting.

The project cost will not exceed $300,825, according to city documents.

Why now? During the week of May 19, a mechanical failure in the splash pad’s auto-fill system caused extensive flooding in the pump and electrical room, resulting in major infrastructure damage.

Following a review of multiple repair estimates, the city selected Kraftsman Commercial Playground & Water Parks’ proposal of $286,500, plus a 5% construction contingency for a total contract amount not to exceed $300,825.

What else?: The repairs are estimated to be completed by mid-October, according to information included in the meeting packet.
