A new Stretch Zone studio is coming to Cypress in the Coles Crossing area in October 2026, Stretch Zone Cypress Coles Crossing officials confirmed.

The details: Per the website, Stretch Zone offers practitioner-assisted stretching methods intended to increase active range of motion rather than flexibility. The franchise was founded by Jorden Gold in Miami in 2004 after witnessing his grandfather's growing limitations due to diabetes, according to a Stretch Zone news release.

Cy-Fair ISD to provide district related updates during Community Connect meeting

Cy-Fair ISD plans to hold its first Community Connect meeting of the 2026-27 school year on Sept. 17, according to the district website.

What you need to know: Superintendent Doug Killian and Chief of Staff Brandy Baker are slated to present updates from across the district, per a social media announcement.

CFISD Community Connect is intended to inform parents, community members, business partners and taxpayers and provide opportunities to engage with CFISD. According to the website, during each session, attendees hear from district leaders and community experts regarding topics including:

  • Student achievement

  • Parent resources

  • Safety and security

  • District initiatives

  • Issues pertaining to taxpayers

A Community Connect meeting is planned for 6 p.m. on Sept. 17 at the Mark Henry Administration Building located at 11440 Matzke Road, Cypress, district officials confirmed.

Verizon retail store coming soon to Village Green at Bridgeland Central

A new Verizon retail store is coming to the Village Green at Bridgeland Central in Cypress, according to Howard Hughes Communities representatives.

Key details about the upcoming retail location include:

  • The store is scheduled to open in winter 2026-27.

  • It will be located at 20115 Bridgeland Creek Parkway, Ste. 102, Cypress.

  • The Verizon store has leased a 1,565-square-foot space in the retail center.

According to Verizon's website, the company offers mobile, home and business internet services.

Harris County Attorney announces lawsuits alleging deed fraud, pattern of stolen homes

Harris County Attorney Abbie Kamin announced two lawsuits against individuals allegedly stealing homes with fraudulent paperwork during a press conference on Sept. 9.

Current situation: The lawsuits stem from the Harris County Attorney’s Office’s investigations into scammers committing deed fraud, Kamin said. According to a news release, scammers file fraudulent paperwork to obtain deeds to homes, selling or renting them to unsuspecting tenants.

The details: The lawsuits cover 10 homes in Harris County that the County Attorney’s Office alleges have been stolen. The scammers target families of different socioeconomic backgrounds, Kamin said.

Before you go: County residents can check to make sure no transfers have been filed for their home’s deed. If homeowners believe a suspicious filing has been made, they can file a complaint with the County Attorney’s Office.
