Colleyville council approves annual gift card programs, economic development initiatives

Colleyville residents will see several economic development programs rolled out throughout fiscal year 2025-26, including the city's annual gift card programs. The programs were unanimously approved by Colleyville City Council members at a Sept. 16 meeting.

What you need to know: Several economic development programs will be rolled out this Christmas, including:

  • $35 Colleyville gift cards, which residents can use to shop at participating Colleyville businesses
  • $50 Colleyville Cares gift cards, which will be given to families in need to shop at Colleyville businesses
  • Colleyville Gives program, which allows sales tax businesses to receive a $1,000 advertising grant or a $2,000 advertising grant if the business donates $500 to a local nonprofit

Stuart Body Shop now offering auto repair services in Grapevine

Stuart Body Shop opened in Grapevine and offers auto repair services, according to its website. 

The details: Services include full-service auto repair, paintless dent repair, paint protection film, paint correction and detailing for automobiles, per the shop’s website. 
The city of Grapevine issued a building permit on Sept. 20, 2024 for construction of the 22,080-square-foot collision repair center, according to a document from the economic development meeting on Oct. 23, 2024. 

The first garage opened in east Plano in 1983, according to the business’ website.

Foot Palace closes in Trophy Club

The town of Trophy Club revoked Foot Palace's Certificate of Occupancy after the arrest of three individuals at the business, according to a Trophy Club Facebook post. 

The details: The arrests occurred Sept. 18 as a part of a human trafficking investigation and evidence collected are under review, according to the post. 

Foot Palace first opened in Trophy Club in May, 2014 and offered full body, foot and back massages, according to its website.

Texans have through Oct. 6 to register to vote in the Nov. 4 election

The Nov. 4 election is coming up, and so is the deadline to register to vote. Eligible Texans must register by Oct. 6 to cast votes in various local races and weigh in on 17 proposed amendments to the Texas Constitution.

What to know: Texans who need to register to vote must submit a paper application. The application is available here and must be printed, signed and mailed to the election office in the voter’s county of residence.

Texas does not allow online voter registration, unless residents are updating, renewing or replacing a Texas driver’s license or ID card.

Zooming in: To be eligible to register to vote, an individual must:

  • Be a U.S. citizen
  • Reside in the county they apply to vote in
  • Be at least 18 years old by Election Day
  • Not have been declared mentally incapacitated without the right to vote by a court

Registered voters can check their voter registration status online at any time and update identifying information, such as their name and address, online through Oct. 6.
