Construction advances for 4th Northwest ISD high school with utility easement agreement

A new Northwest ISD high school under construction near North Riverside Drive is nearly a fifth of the way complete.

The district’s board of trustees approved an encroachment agreement with Permian Express Partners LLC, associated with the Company Energy Transfer, for the property at its regular board meeting Sept. 23.

The details: The new high school, which will be the fourth in the district, will be located near I-35 and SH 170, and does not have an official address or name yet, Anthony Tosie, the district’s executive director of communications, said.

Clarks Shoes & Footwear coming soon to Tanger Outlets Fort Worth

A new Clarks Shoes & Footwear is expected to open later this fall at the Tanger Outlets Fort Worth.

According to the Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation website, Clarks is slated to open this November next to Ann Taylor.

A closer look: According to the company’s website, Clarks sells shoes for the entire family including:

  • Sneakers
  • Heels
  • Oxfords
  • Slip-ons

The Southlake Hotel rebrands to The Elmore Hotel

Renovations have been completed and a new name has been unveiled for a hotel in Southlake.

Coury Hospitality, based in Grapevine, has announced the rebranding of The Southlake Hotel to The Elmore Hotel on Sept. 23, on social media.

The property is managed by Coury Hospitality, which manages Hotel Vin in Grapevine and is owned by NewcrestImage.

What happened: A $950,000 renovation on the main lobby, outdoor space and rooms started in August 2024, according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

Sagewind is the lobby restaurant and the renovation added Social Outlaw, a cinematic speakeasy, according to the social media post.

What else? The hotel is now part of Marriott’s Tribute Portfolio Hotel following the renovations, according to the social media post. According to Marriott website, there are seven such locations in Texas.
