Meet your Market President:

Jason Culpepper

A leader at CI since 2009, Jason Culpepper also currently serves as Metro President for the company’s Houston markets.

In the past five years, the Brazos Valley has experienced tremendous growth, and it’s not slowing down. Road infrastructure projects such as Highway 6, innovation in the region’s tech scene, and an expanding community of thriving local businesses make now a great time for Community Impact to join Bryan-College Station’s local media scene, Culpepper said.

“With so much growth and change underway, our goal is to stay ahead of it on behalf of readers, reporting daily on the developments, decisions and issues that impact their everyday lives.”

— Jason Culpepper

📰 CI’s Story:

In 2005, John and Jennifer Garrett set out to build a local newspaper to serve their hometowns of Round Rock and Pflugerville.

The first editions of Community Impact were pieced together in the game room of the Garretts’ home, and edited by John’s former high school English teacher. Over the past 20 years, the company has grown to 200+ employees, printing all of its editions out of its own printing facility at its HQ in Pflugerville, Texas.

Still privately owned by John and Jennifer, Community Impact’s mission is to provide trusted news and local information that everyone gets. CI’s news hits 300K+ inboxes every weekday and 2M+ mailboxes monthly, with the largest print newspaper circulation in the United States. You read that right. 😉

After its February 2026 newsletter launch, the Bryan-College Station edition will launch in print the last week of April, and will be Community Impact’s 42nd edition.

The Garrett Family, 2025

We’ll be thinking of you! Until February…
